Supplement designed to enrich the diet of dogs and cats.

Nutritional benefits: Taurine is a sulfur amino acid present in the body whose main functions are to support the myocardium, the proper development of the central nervous system and dilation of the retina. Taurine facilitates the digestion of fats due to the formation of bile salts. This amino acid ensures correct oncotic pressure, is integrated into the hypothermic properties of the thermoregulation mechanism and enhances the secretion of vasopressin and oxytocin in the neurological part of the pituitary gland.

Taurine is essential for cats and certain breeds of dogs, especially those suspected of having cardiomyopathy resulting from taurine deficiency (e.g. Cocker spaniel, Golden retriever, Labrador, Doberman).

It is also crucial in dog breeding, where its deficiency is more common in female dogs or large breeds (for example: Bernardine, English setter, Newfoundland), as a result of an unbalanced or low-protein diet.

In addition, taurine is a powerful antioxidant, as it protects cells against damage caused by heavy metals (e.g. cadmium, copper, lead) and promotes the absorption of all fat-soluble vitamins (i.e. A, D, E and K).

Did you know that… taurine is an essential amino acid to include in the diet of felines . A diet with an adequate taurine content correctly determines reproductive functions in cats and supports the proper growth of kittens. Raw meat and fish contain the highest amount of taurine. The amount drops drastically during cooking or freezing.
